While working in the mining team, Lauren learned how to deliver ‘toolbox’ talks and gained a deep understanding of the importance of maintaining mental health in the workplace, especially within a FIFO environment.
After completing the Engineers Australia’s Graduate Development Program in 2020, Lauren was promoted to HR Advisor shortly after. Now she takes on new challenges. For example, Lauren now grapples with mobility in the workforce in a COVID climate and navigates the competitive labour market to ensure we retain talent.
“I want to continue learning as much as I can so I can develop and implement strategies that will make a difference to Macmahon and the industry,” says Lauren.
Lauren believes in making the most out of every opportunity. We think this is why she has been so successful in such a short amount of time!
“We have so many great resources here at Macmahon which help me develop professionally,” says Lauren. “I work with intelligent and supportive teammates who are always available to help.”
“I was placed on the Effective Supervisor Program which gave me an insight into what our leaders are learning so I can better support them in my role.”
Although passionate about her career, Lauren has other interests too. She enjoys escaping down south for a quick weekend getaway and loves unwinding with a stroll along the coast and a swim. Lauren is also an avid West Coast Eagles supporter.
