GBF wins contract with Bellevue Gold

Macmahon group company GBF has been engaged for Stage 1 of the Bellevue Gold Project in the Western Australian Goldfields.

The Bellevue underground mine is located 400km north west of Kalgoorlie and was previously one of Australia’s highest-grade gold mines from 1986 – 1997.

GBF’s scope of works includes the construction of a new portal to enable large scale mining equipment to access the historical underground workings, and the refurbishment and stripping of parts of the existing decline to accommodate future development.

Our team of jumbo operators, underground shotfirers, loader operators, HD fitters and HV electricians are currently on site and planning the first decline cut in the coming days. Interestingly, some of our people previously worked at Bellevue back in the late 1980s including Brent Bickley, Byron Parker and one of GBF’s founders, Ross Graham.

GBF is contracted for Stage 1 over a 10 month period. Upon completion, Bellevue will undertake additional diamond drilling and finalise a long term mine plan which we hope will lead to opportunities for additional work.
