Minister's Award for Excellence
Macmahon Apprentice Awards
The ongoing commitment at Macmahon to train tomorrow's leaders has been recognised in the Minister's Awards for Excellence for Employers of Australian Apprentices.
Presented by the Hon. Julia Gillard MP, Federal Minister for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, in Canberra during August 2009, Macmahon won the award for the Perth and Central Queensland Regions and was runner-up for the Northern Australia Region.
An Australian Government initiative, the Minister's Awards for Excellence recognise and reward organisations and individuals who make an outstanding contribution towards the training of apprentices.
A regular on this stage, the latest achievement adds to Macmahon's already exemplary record at these prestigious awards.
Since 2006, Macmahon has been the recipient of five Minister's Awards and a finalist twice in four separate Australian regions.
Apprentice Coordinator Jason Cullen said this recognition was testament to the commitment Macmahon placed on specialised training for the company's future.
"The wins in Perth and Central Queensland, and runner-up award in Northern Australia, showcase the high standard of work put in by our supervisors, tradespeople and, of course, the apprentices themselves.
"Each year we have challenged ourselves to improve our training programs and acknowledgement such as this indicates we are on the right path," Mr Cullen said.
